The Ultimate Living Adventure ...
10 Travelers on a
Truck...
Each person contributes
£350 a month.
The Truck pays for
everything, food, visas, camp site fees, park entrance fees,
sightseeing tours etc etc
The adventure never
ends... There are no time limits, providing the Truck can afford
to continue it will, otherwise the Truck stays put until it can
fund its self to move on. (By staying in a camp site until the
start of a new month where each person contributes their monthly
fee, unlikely to happen with a £3k a month budget! £500 a
month is saved for emergency truck repairs, general emergencies,
driver's pay and web site fees).
Each night around
the camp fire (during the group main meal) money is counted, and a
discussion is held on what or where to visit tomorrow. It's your
money funding the next adventure, spend it wisely. Every taste
could easily be catered for if the monthly budget is spent wisely.
If you wish to indulge
yourself further you can, but you will have to fund this out of
your own pocket. This is not a rush-rush trip where we visit a few
famous sites in each country and move on. We live each
country, carefully planning around the kitty to maximize your stay
enabling every member to fully appreciate each country in all its
glory.
The advantage
You live an
adventure, which could be forever, if you wished.
You see, visit, experience
and live every part of each country instead of just passing it by.
Everything is paid
for from the Trucks monthly income, thus the money goes further as
it's cheaper to feed 10 than 1, everyone is equal and receives the
same.
Stop, stay in any
place that you want to, for as long as you like.
Usually by staying
in a camp site next to an exotic beach for a month or two you can
build up enough money to do the things you could never do on any
other tour.
Digital
We plan to take
with us a high performance laptop computer with its own DVD Burner
enabling the members on the truck to take digital photo's or video
and instantly add them to the computer to either burn to a DVD /
CD or transfer to the internet. We plan on taking a Digital camera
that can record up to an hour of video for use to promote the trip
via our web site.
Having a laptop is
also very handy to write emails back to your loved ones or
friends. The internet can be found in most major cities in Africa
and quite cheap too.
Its also very handy
as a MP3 Player with hours of music stored on the hard drive.
The people
Self sufficient
people, with enough monthly income of at least £350 a month
(payable in Sterling) who have had enough of the Rat Race. If you
want to do things outside of the 'tour' you can, but you will have
to fund this yourself. The idea of the trip is to enable everyone
to actually visit and explore each country we visit. This is all
down to group discussion at meal times, and depends how much of
the monthly budget is remaining. We have to take in to account
things like fuel, visas, food and camp site fees. We expect to
stay in each country for at least 1 month, and each person should
commit themselves for a minimum of 6 months.
The Budget
With a budget of
£3,000 a month, this trip will be like no other on the market
today. While the other overland truck companies take this money as
their profit, living adventure uses it to actually explore and
visit all the places in each country that are of some interest.
This basically breaks down to a daily truck budget of £100 a day.
Some days we might only spend £20, around £10 on food and £10
on camping fees. This gives the truck a bonus of £80. Some days
we might not spend anything at all, or a minimum of just £10 on
food when camping free in the wild! With the extra money we save
we could spend this on group tours, nights out in a restaurant or
visit the local bars. If we are all tired and find a nice place to
explore and the camping is cheap we could for example stay there
for a week thus building up the budget for the next country. At
the end of the day this trip is all about you, the adventure traveler.
With 9 other like minded people, all with the same focus. It's a
unique opportunity that will probably remain with you for the rest
of your life.
The Ideal Person
Hard to define,
there could be so many, there must be 10 out there somewhere in
the world, 10 like minded people who have the income to support
themselves, after all its not that much to come up with in today's
world. You might be a Landlord, after renting your house / houses
you've got this income, but not sure what to do with it. You could
travel on one of the other trucks, miss everything interesting to
see, or you could travel on this truck and never want to go home,
why would you?
You should ...
- be between 25
and 50
- be fit and
strong
- love traveling
- want to explore
- expect to camp
rough
- expect to help
out
- be easy going
- be laid back
- be strong headed
- be able to compromise
- be willing to
join in
- have good
communication skills
- be able to talk
your way out of situations
- be in no rush
- enjoy a drink
- be sick of the
rat race
- not be on
medication or epileptic

The Drivers
We are currently seeking two
drivers for this trip. If you think you have what it takes, and
you are a Diesel Mechanic with Full HGV1 or PSV driving license
and have completed a first aid course, with a reasonable amount of
computer knowledge, then we would like to hear from you. As a
driver of the truck, you will not have to pay, and you will even
get paid! (Not much, your doing this because you love it, and for
you it's free). Contact us on the above email address or leave a
message in our forum.
