Country Walks - Devon - Lydford - Lydford Gorge
Devon is a wonderful place, if you
have never been there, you must!
While this part of the site is not
about the Adventure Travel that the truck will be doing, we have
decided to add some nice places around the UK that we highly
recommend you travel too.
Lydford Gorge is one such place,
owned by the National Trust it is only open from spring to autumn
as in the winter is it far to dangerous to walk it's path !
The picture on the right shows The
White Lady Waterfall
If you do visit, please arrive
early, as the walk will take you a good half a day at a normal
walking pace. Some of the walk is very scary (well for girls
anyway) and one of the other highlights apart from the white lady
waterfall is the Devils Cauldron.
This walk will take your breath
away at times, its advised that you wear good walking boots, some
of it is very slippery, narrow and has shear vertical drops down
to the river Lyd below. You have been warned! Not for the faint hearted!
There are two places you can start
the walk from, it doesn't really matter which way around you do
the walk, at around half way there is a cafe no matter what where
you can have a bite to eat and rest your legs.
